Roger H. Hale (2 Free Arrangements)

Dr. Roger Hale joined the faculty at Dixie State University in August of 2014. He received a Bachelor of Music Education (2001) and Masters of Choral Conducting (2006) from the University of Utah, and a Ph.D. in Choral Music Education and Conducting from Florida State University (2009). Dr. Hale studied closely with John Cooksey, André Thomas, Kevin Fenton, and Clifford Madsen. He previously served as Director of Choral Activities at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO. Dr. Hale’s public teaching experience includes serving as Choir and Band Director in southeastern Idaho at Bear Lake Middle School and High School. Other conducting responsibilities included serving as director of the Bear Lake Community Chorus, University of Utah Concert Chorale, Florida State University Chamber Singers, Senior Citizen's Choir, and University Singers, an ensemble that recently finished a tour of the southeastern United States (2009). Hale has recently performed as tenor soloist with the St. Joseph Community Chorus in their performance of Handel’s Messiah and on the Noontime Concert Series in St. Joseph, MO. Dr. Hale is Director of Choral Activities at DSU where he conducts the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Men’s Chorus. He is a sought-after clinician and guest conductor. His research interests include using technology in the classroom for a more engaged rehearsal. His teaching load includes Advanced Choral Conducting, Choral Literature. He is currently serving as ward choir director in his ward. He lives in the St. George, UT area with his wife KayDe and their five children.
